Indonesia’s Fintech Association (Aftech) released its 2018 Annual Member Report to the local press in Jakarta yesterday (02/05).
Quoting from local media outlet KataData, the aggregate loan disbursement disclosed by all lending platforms in Afttech’s 2018 survey totaled IDR 22.6 trillion (USD 1.58 billion), reaching 4.35 million borrowers. The loans came from 207,507 lenders.
The report also states that the total transaction value of digital payment platforms in Indonesia reached IDR 47 trillion (USD 3.29 billion), by end-2018, up 70% from March that year. The transaction volume stood at 2.9 billion transactions.
Moreover, the survey also showed a significant increase in the number of fintech platforms who joined the association. Aftech started in 2016 with six members and had 178 members by December 2018.
