Chinese internet giant Tencent (HKG: 0700) has recently launched a standalone homework app for teachers and students nationwide, local media outlet Techplanet reported on Sunday.

The new app, named Tencent Zuoyejun, allows teachers to assign homework to their students online. Students can submit their answers in various formats including text, images, audio, and video, which can be graded via the app by teachers.

The app is currently available on both iOS and Android app stores, along with a mini program on Tencent’s WeChat.

The average daily active users (DAU) of education apps in China have increased 46% to over 127 million in the first week of February due to the coronavirus outbreak, compared with 87 million in the same period in January, according to a report by Questmobile. The DAUs of education mini programs on WeChat have also seen an increase of 218%.
