Alibaba Group’s cloud computing arm Alibaba Cloud inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National University of Singapore (NUS) to collaborate on supporting talent in the industry. This was announced at the Alibaba Cloud Summit-Infinity 2018 conference in Singapore today.
Under the MOU, the firm will offer NUS business analytics students internship opportunities at Alibaba Cloud. For those enrolled in NUS ‘s Master’s in Business Analytics, Alibaba Cloud offers an additional data science-focused certification programme. There will also be joint research opportunities.
In 2017, Alibaba Cloud, NUS and Ez-Link, the country’s transport payment card company, kickstarted a big data analytics project. In March, Alibaba Cloud also inked a MOU with Nanyang Technological University, another government university, to launch its first joint research institute outside of China.
