NCS, Singtel Group’s information, communications, and technology (ICT) arm, announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 2359 Media, a Singapore-based digital services consultancy.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the deal, 2359 Media will become part of Next, the digital unit of NCS. Founded in 2009, the startup uses cloud-based technologies to develop custom-built mobile apps, platforms, and websites for clients across sectors including financial services, media, healthcare, and retail.
The acquisition will give NCS clients access to a range of digital services from design thinking, rapid prototyping, cloud-native application development, among other digital solutions.
NCS is seeing greater demand for digital services from both its public and commercial sector clients, driven by COVID-19, said CEO Ng Kuo Pin. The company is currently present in 15 cities across Asia Pacific.
According to a report by Research and Markets, the global digital transformation market is expected to reach USD 1.39 trillion by 2027, with the Asia-Pacific region will accounting for USD 379.95 billion.
