China plans fines for e-commerce firms

Beijing plans to fine major e-commerce platforms over food delivery safety issues, with Pinduoduo expected to face about RMB 1.5 billion, the largest penalty, sources said. Douyin, Taobao, JD.com, and Meituan could face penalties ranging from RMB 50–700 million.
