China’s third largest manufacturer Oppo shared some data at a recent developers conference in Beijing.
Oppo now claims 310 million users across 40 countries worldwide, with 218 million monthly users for its native software store and 680 million app downloads per day, Jiemian reports.
The company also gave developers an eye into monetization, by promoting the various advertising formats its platform supports, from native to banner ads, screen and video advertising, and more.
In the first quarter of 2019, Oppo had an 18% share of China’s smartphone market, according to Counterpoint Research. This placed it behind Vivo’s 19% and market leader Huawei’s 34%. More than 817 million in China used phones to surf the internet in February 2019, accounting for 98.6% of the country’s netizens, per the China Internet Network Information Center.
