Indonesian e-commerce platform Bukalapak has appointed Teddy Oetomo as president replacing co-founder Fajrin Rasyid who stepped down from the position last month to become a director at state-owned PT Telkom Indonesia. Oetomo confirmed the news to KrASIA, saying that he was appointed effective July 20.
Oetomo joined the Ant Financial-backed Bukalapak in July 2018 as Chief Strategy Officer, overseeing strategy and investment, including corporate finance and customer satisfaction.
“Teddy will be working with me to create an organization that will grow its business and reputation and lead us to a sustainable model, with the ultimate mission which is a fair economy for all,” CEO Rachmat Kaimuddin told KrASIA.
Prior to Bukalapak, Teddy led the intermediary business at the investment bank Schroders Indonesia. He was also head of equity research at Credit Suisse Indonesia. Bukalapak is the first Indonesian unicorn where all co-founders have left the company.
