Beijing Mobile, the Beijing branch of China Mobile, the country’s largest telecommunication operator, said that it aims to offer 5G signal to customers living within Beijing’s fifth ring road by the end of this year.
This should be good news to smartphone vendors including Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and ZTE, who have already launched 5G phones and plan to ship them around the middle of this year.
Early bird Samsung has already started pre-selling its 5G smartphone on its official website since Thursday night.
