Meta refuses to sign EU AI code

Meta reportedly declined to sign the EU’s AI code of practice, calling it an overreach that could stunt innovation and create legal uncertainty. Global affairs chief Joel Kaplan said the rules exceed the AI Act’s scope and may hinder companies building on advanced models. The code takes effect in August.
