Automation processes drive the pace of development for Indonesia’s digital financial services. This is in line with the government’s policies and efforts, which encourage financial inclusion and literacy in the country. One example is a campaign organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Go Online MSMEs, which is active in 30 regencies in the country.
Kebizz is a startup that automates financial reporting and analytics. It wants to help business owners maintain their financial health and accomplish financial goals. The company provides on-demand business check-ups, consultations with finance and tax experts, credit scoring, as well as business plan and investment advisory services.
Yosephine Tyas, founder and CEO of Kebizz, launched the startup in 2021. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in informatics engineering from Bina Nusantara University, a master’s degree in management finance from Kwik Kian Gie School of Business, and professional experience as a certified financial planner, she developed services that are in demand in Indonesia’s startup landscape.
“My calling is to help small and medium businesses, and in ten years of being a finance consultant, I have seen many business owners fall into debt and bankruptcy because they do not have financial and tax reports. Oftentimes, they also mix business and personal finance, which is certainly not healthy for the company’s finances,” said Tyas.
Although its target market is Indonesia’s 30 million MSMEs, Kebizz does not rule out the possibility of wading into the B2C segment. Tyas sees the rise of an entrepreneurial spirit among young people in Indonesia, so services related to savings, cultivating business capital, as well as short-term and long-term investments are in strong demand.
Currently, Tyas runs Kebizz with two other certified financial planners—Merissa Susanti and Intan Purnama. Each has their own specialization in the field of debt management, financial management and accounting.
Kebizz was among the ten finalists of the second Alibaba Cloud x KrASIA Global Startup Accelerator Indonesia Demo Day that was held on December 21.
