Foodpanda strengthens its quick-commerce (q-commerce) services by collaborating with over 200 major retailers, offering customers a wider variety of options and delivering orders in less than an hour.

In an effort to enhance its quick-commerce offerings, foodpanda has partnered with over 200 major retailers, resulting in the addition of more than 2,000 outlets to its retail marketplace, foodpanda shops. This move allows foodpanda customers to shop from a diverse range of retailers and receive their orders within the hour, revolutionizing the delivery platform’s q-commerce services across the region.

Recent collaborations include renowned retailers such as Robinsons Easymart in the Philippines, as well as Giant Mini, AEON Maxvalu, AEON Wellness, and Daiso in Malaysia. These partnerships provide customers with an extensive selection of groceries and essential items while ensuring quick and convenient delivery.

Christian Urban, Director of Marketplace for New Verticals at foodpanda, explains the advantages of q-commerce, stating, “Most people see shopping for groceries or everyday essentials as an errand, so they’d prefer doing it in the easiest and fastest way possible, and this is where q-commerce comes in. Having the ability to deliver a vast assortment of products quickly allows our retail partners to provide customers with what they want and when they want it – which places retailers at an advantageous position to cater to the growing demand for on-demand delivery services.”

Traditionally, online orders could take up to the next working day to be delivered. However, with foodpanda’s q-commerce services, customers can now choose from over 50,000 retail stores and have their orders delivered within the hour. This improvement in delivery time not only enhances the shopping experience but also enables retailers to meet a broader range of customer demands, including last-minute ingredient refills or urgent items like medicine.

By leveraging foodpanda’s logistics efficiencies and complementary features, merchant partners can not only offer on-demand deliveries but also increase their sales. Through foodpanda’s Partner Portal, retailers can access valuable business insights, such as top-selling products, to inform their procurement and pricing strategies. Additionally, they can participate in seasonal marketing campaigns and benefit from additional traffic drivers, such as customized banners and customer emailers.

“Q-commerce has shown that fast delivery services serve beyond impulse purchases and have become an increasingly useful service for regular grocery top-ups or urgent needs,” says Christian Urban. “By tapping on foodpanda’s technology and data infrastructure, retailers are able to expand their abilities to offer q-commerce, allowing them to better serve their customers’ evolving needs.”
