Aprisium secures USD 7 million in Series A round

Aprisium, a Singapore-based company specializing in advanced contaminant detection and monitoring solutions, has announced the completion of its oversubscribed USD 7 million Series A funding round. The round was jointly led by Deep-Tech Venture Partners (DTVP) and Cocoon Capital, with significant participation from Woh Hup and Solisa Peppercorn.

Aprisium offers real-time testing capabilities for a wide range of contaminants, including perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), enabling continuous and accurate detection.

The funds will support Aprisium’s expansion into Europe, the US, and across Southeast Asia, enhancing its market reach and operational capabilities.

Australia’s OneVentures launches seventh fund

OneVentures, an Australian venture capital firm, has announced the launch of its seventh fund. The new growth equity fund aims to raise AUD 200 million (USD 132 million) to support the growth of later-stage technology companies.

This new fund will increase OneVentures’ total assets under management (AUM) to over AUD 1 billion (USD 660 million). It will invest between AUD 10–30 million (USD 6.6–19.8 million) in ambitious tech companies needing capital for global market expansion, focusing on artificial intelligence, energy, and healthcare, among other sectors.

Abnormal Security closes USD 250 million Series D round

Abnormal Security, a cybersecurity vendor focused on countering exploitation of human vulnerabilities, has closed its Series D funding round, raising USD 250 million at a valuation of USD 5.1 billion. The round was led by Wellington Management, with participation from existing investors Greylock Partners, Menlo Ventures, Insight Partners, and CrowdStrike Falcon Fund.

The latest infusion of capital will enable the company to continue its mission of protecting humans from cybercrime through the power of artificial intelligence, understanding human behavior to detect and prevent dangerous socially-engineered attacks.

GrowSari secures USD 5 million investment

GrowSari, a tech startup helping Philippine sarisari stores to digitally transform their operations, has received a USD 5 million investment from Oppenheimer Generations Asia, according to various media reports.

The funds will reportedly be used to support GrowSari’s business lines and provide liquidity to employees and early-stage investors.

BBTruck closes pre-Series A round at USD 6.5 million

BBTruck, a supply chain and logistics technology enterprise, has closed its pre-series A funding round, raising USD 6.5 million. The round was spearheaded by Oasis Venture, H2U, and StarWorks Entrepreneurial Venture Capital (SWEVC).

The capital will be used to accelerate BBTruck’s expansion in North America and Southeast Asia, and bolster its product development and talent acquisition efforts.

Blockscout raises USD 3 million in seed funding

Blockscout, an open-source block explorer for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchains, has closed a USD 3 million seed funding round led by 1kx.

The funds will be used to enhance Blockscout’s products, improve user experience, and support new projects looking for “explorer-as-a-service” customization. Blockscout aims to redefine block explorer paradigms by providing transparent and accessible blockchain data services to developers and end users alike.

Recent deals completed in China:

  • Moonshot AI, one of China’s leading generative AI startups, has raised over USD 300 million in a recent funding round, boosting its valuation to USD 3.3 billion. The round attracted investments from Tencent, Gaorong Capital, and existing backer Alibaba Group. This investment follows a previous USD 1 billion round led by Alibaba in February. Moonshot’s recent funding reflects the ongoing investment frenzy in China’s AI sector, as tech giants and venture capitalists vie to dominate the market. —Bloomberg

This round, funded by various Chinese investors, will provide the company with funds to advance its R&D and strategic deployment in the large language model (LLM) domain. 1Data focuses on hyperautomation in the supply chain sector, providing solutions to enterprises in manufacturing, logistics, and retail.

Djoin, Juleo, Norma, and more led yesterday’s headlines:

  • Djoin, a financial platform for microfinance institutions (MFIs), raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from 500 Global.
  • Juleo, an operator of a “singles club,” raised USD 2.5 million in an angel funding round from over 180 investors.
  • Norma, a South Korean quantum security firm, reportedly secured investment from Vertex Ventures and is now looking to raise a bridge funding round.
