Summit participants will discuss cross-border expansion and investments in China and Southeast Asia.

On December 5th, high-profile industry leaders and investors from all around the world will convene in Beijing, China, for a common purpose: to discuss issues revolving around cross-border expansion and investments that affect China and Southeast Asia.

Co-hosted by ZhenFund and Golden Gate Ventures, the China & Southeast Asia (SEA) Venture Summit will feature speakers from some of the biggest names in the industry. Speakers include ZhenFund founding partner Bob Xu, partner at Qiming Ventures Heleng Wong, Alpha JWC partner Allan Hellawell, ZhenFund managing director Yuan Liu, founding partner at Insignia Ventures Yinglan Tan, Rikita co-founder Wei-Chuan, Wook founder Xu Long Hua, iFlix CFO James Qiu, and representatives from Alibaba and Tencent.

The summit will feature on-stage conversations on various pertinent and current topics. These include navigating regional diversity and differences in Southeast Asia, demystifying the success of Chinese tech companies, and a session on whether Chinese successes will replay in Southeast Asia.

Among the attendees of the summit are founders or high-ranking executives of companies such as iFlix, Billboard Indonesia, ByteDance, Kuaishou, SF Express, ZhenFund, GGV Capital, Goldman Sachs, Silk Road Fund, BAI Fund, Fosun Investment Group, Tencent Investment, Shunwei Capital, Naspers Ventures, YY.com, and Gobi Ventures.

ZhenFund and Golden Gate Ventures will also unveil their white paper at the summit. Titled Navigating the SEAs: Growing and Investing in Southeast Asia, the document (available in Mandarin and English versions) has deep insights into lessons learned from the most well-known startups that have scaled across Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.

The white paper discusses seven verticals, namely user growth and market expansion, international organization, commodification, supply chain and logistics, product design, and localization. Companies that contributed to the white paper include Huawei, Uber, Google, Billboard Indonesia, Momentum, Logivan, Stoqo, and Holla.

Apart from the summit itself, attendees will be given a guided tour of some of the hottest early and late stage startups in China. The company visits will take place on December 4 and 6 respectively.

The event is co-sponsored by chief sponsor Amazon Web Services and special sponsor Silicon Valley Bank.
