Hygon scraps merger plan with Sugon

Chinese chipmaker Hygon has canceled its planned merger with top shareholder Sugon, citing changing market conditions and the scale of the transaction. Announced in May, the deal would have been one of China’s largest semiconductor mergers this year. Shares of both companies fell following the announcement.
