China Eastern opens world’s longest commercial route

China Eastern has launched a route connecting Shanghai, Auckland, and Buenos Aires, creating the first commercial link between antipode cities and what is described as the world’s longest single itinerary at roughly 25 hours. The twice-weekly service shortens China-South America travel and, supported by Auckland transit visa waivers and fifth freedom rights, broadens passenger and cargo options across Asia, Oceania, and South America.
