China sets stricter power bank rules

China is reportedly finalizing a stricter mandatory safety standard for power banks that adds requirements for full labeling, real-time health monitoring on circuit boards, and tougher battery abuse tests. Industry participants expect the rule to be published in December and implemented in June 2026, replacing existing certification, with most current capacity unlikely to meet the new thresholds.
