EU probes Chinese tyre subsidies

The European Commission has opened an anti-subsidy investigation into tyres for cars, light trucks, and buses from China, citing evidence of unfair state support. The probe, which follows an anti-dumping review opened in May, comes amid a 51% rise in Chinese tyre imports since 2021 and could result in provisional duties within nine months.
