China sets record in satellite data speed

China set a national record for satellite-to-ground X-band transmission at 2,100 megabits per second, a 75% boost over prior speeds. The milestone was reached in an AI-assisted experiment co-led by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Beijing Rongwei Technology, aimed at easing remote sensing data bottlenecks and advancing high-capacity satellite communications.
