Tencent launched on Tuesday its WeChat mini program-based e-payment service in another Chinese city Shenzhen, where the social networking and gaming giant is headquartered, in a race with rival Alibaba’s financial arm Ant Financial to replace passengers’ metro card with their respective e-payment services, which can generate a sheer size of data that could help the two companies step into the future of smart transportation.
