The importance of making invisible tools.

By Kevin Fitzgerald’s own admission, accounting can be a little, well, “boring.” But ask him about the essential processes that move money for businesses, and you’ll see that his enthusiasm is palpable.

As Spenmo’s chief revenue officer, Fitzgerald is fascinated by the workflows related to keeping financial accounts. Speaking with him made us think of the many people who are building unseen processes that are vital but rarely acknowledged.

These are tools that run behind the scenes and make labor-intensive tasks manageable with just a few clicks. When they work properly, even the person who’s using them may not realize just how much time and legwork they’ve saved.

Companies like Spenmo—and people like Fitzgerald—are diving deep to understand specific problems that need solutions. Their work isn’t glamorous, and understanding what they do demands comprehension of specialized fields.

It’s refreshing to hear someone speak about a topic that they are passionate about, because that attitude leads to groundbreaking developments. Check out KrASIA’s conversation with Spenmo CRO Kevin Fitzgerald here.
