No matter where you are, there is no shortage of ways to pay for things with your phone.
Payment services that run online are one of the prerequisites for the transition to (and development of) all forms of e-commerce. This rapid buildout is made possible by open finance developers, which are creating the infrastructure and data standards for fintech services.
What makes this interesting is that, often enough, the tech moves faster than regulators can react. That difference in pace only becomes even greater when open finance developers pick up steam. By now, that is a common story in the tech sector, but one that is still unfolding in Southeast Asia.
